General Description
Are you interested in working in a dynamic environment building the power generation and transmission infrastructure required to meet present and future needs in North America? Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group (QISG) is a rapidly growing construction management and geo-structural engineering company within the Quanta Services (Quanta) family of companies. Quanta, the largest civil construction work force in North America focused on the Power Generation and Transmission Sector, is meeting the nation’s energy, utility, and communication needs head on. QISG is seeking both project geotechnical and structural engineering professionals interested in working to support large-scale engineering and construction projects throughout North America by providing geo-structural design solutions to our construction partners and clients.
About this Role
A Project Engineer within QISG is involved in a variety of engineering projects with a focus on energy related infrastructure including transmission & substation structures and foundation systems. With an emphasis on design-build delivery methods for large-scale energy generation and transmission-related projects QISG works closely with our in-house, multi-disciplinary engineering and construction team — including civil, structural, geotechnical, estimating, construction management, and construction experts. A Project Engineer within QISG plays a crucial role in providing design solutions on large scale projects.
This role is an office-based position with a primary focus on executing pre-construction design – often for estimating purposes, development of construction plans, and construction support services during construction and erection. Typical activities involve structural engineering calculations and modeling, design document development, and coordination of civil construction specifications. The Project Engineer will be expected to apply standard and advanced engineering principles, under the oversight of a Senior Professional Engineer, to solve complex problems. A successful candidate is able to utilize sound engineering judgement, work both independently and collaboratively, and coordinate with other engineering disciplines and team members to develop economical solutions to support QISG construction pursuits and projects. The successful candidate will also be expected to communicate effectively with project management, technical, and construction personnel.
