Exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and entrepreneurial company building infrastructure to support the energy industry of the future!  We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Design Engineer(s) to join our team, focusing on Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects within the power generation and technology sector. The Design Engineer will play a critical role in designing, developing, and optimizing systems and components for power generation facilities, including renewable, and hybrid plants. This position requires collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure designs meet technical, safety, and regulatory standards while supporting project timelines and budgets.
Duties
  • Develop detailed engineering designs, drawings, and specifications for power generation systems, including turbines, generators, boilers, solar arrays, or wind systems, depending on project scope.
  • Perform feasibility studies, simulations, and analyses (e.g., load flow, stress analysis, thermal dynamics) to optimize design performance and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with project managers, procurement teams, and construction personnel to ensure designs align with project requirements and site conditions.
  • Prepare and review technical documentation, including P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), schematics, and equipment layouts.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., ASME, IEEE, IEC), local regulations, and environmental guidelines.
  • Support the selection of materials, components, and vendors by evaluating technical specifications and cost-effectiveness.
  • Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and HAZOP (Hazard and Operability) studies to identify and mitigate potential issues.
  • Provide technical support during procurement, fabrication, installation, and commissioning phases of EPC projects.
  • Incorporate sustainable and innovative design practices to enhance energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
  • Maintain accurate project records and update designs based on feedback or field modifications.
Required Experience and Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical, Electrical Engineering, Civil or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in design engineering, preferably within power generation or large EPC projects.
  • Proficiency in engineering design tools
  • Familiarity with power generation technologies (e.g., gas turbines, steam turbines, solar PV, wind turbines) and balance-of-plant systems.
  • Strong understanding of EPC project lifecycles and interdisciplinary coordination.
  • Knowledge of relevant codes and standards for specific disiplines (e.g., ASME B31.1, NFPA, NEC).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills for collaborating with internal teams, clients, and contractors.
Preferred Experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or working toward certification.
  • Familiarity with renewable energy systems and emerging technologies in power generation.
  • Prior exposure to commissioning or field engineering activities.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high-quality standards.
