QISG is on the hunt for a strategic, self-driven Category Manager to lead sourcing for monopole and lattice towers that keep our electric transmission, distribution, and substation projects standing tall. If you’re passionate about optimizing supplier relationships, cutting costs, and managing risk—especially in structural steel or telecom tower procurement—this role puts you at the heart of powering America’s energy future.

Based at our Houston HQ in the Energy Corridor, you’ll lead sourcing strategies for structural steel components, negotiate contracts, and collaborate across engineering, construction, and finance to deliver top-tier supply chain solutions. You’ll also champion innovation by integrating new tower designs and navigating market trends to keep our supply chain resilient, efficient, and future-ready.

Qualifications:

5+ years in strategic sourcing, procurement, or category management for Structural Steel, Utility Infrastructure, or Telecom Towers
Expertise in monopole and lattice tower procurement within utility and telecom sectors
Proven skills in supplier negotiation, contract management, and cost analysis
Strong background in supply chain risk planning and supplier development
Proficient in Excel and ERP systems such as JD Edwards, Coupa, and Salesforce
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and drive insights
Effective at working independently and influencing cross-functional teams
Track record of building long-term, performance-based supplier partnerships
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or related field
Engineering background and heavy commodity experience are strong pluses
Valid driver’s license and open to travel up to 25%

Key Responsibilities:

Lead strategic sourcing for monopole and lattice towers, including supplier vetting, contract negotiation, and long-term agreements.
Strengthen supplier relationships through audits, performance reviews, and continuous improvement.
Deliver cost savings through market analysis, benchmarking, and data-driven negotiations.
Align sourcing with engineering, construction, finance, and legal to meet project and compliance.
Support NPI by integrating new tower designs into the supply chain efficiently.
Monitor market trends and supplier risks to ensure supply chain resilience.
Manage contracts to uphold legal and commercial standards while promoting transparency.
Conduct site visits to verify supplier quality, capacity, and on-time performance.
Leverage spend and performance data to drive savings, mitigate risk, and boost efficiency.
