Job Description – Staff Accountant General Description The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing various Accounting transactions, such as reconciling general ledger account balances, assessing internal controls, and performing balance sheet and income statement analysis. This position will also support the Corporate Controller with financial reporting and assist the organization with inter-company processes and procedures. Duties
Performs balance sheet, general ledger, and income statement analyses; performs reconciliations as needed
Prepares financial statements and journal entries
Supports internal and external audits to ensure compliance
Supports the Corporate Controller with the financial reporting process
Supports the month-end and year-end close processes
Develops and implements processes to streamline financial data as it flows through the organization
Partners with and assists other Quanta Operating Units with various Accounting processes; share best practices and ensures the integrity of financial data that is being gathered
Participates in change management to include identifying, documenting, and assisting with developing inter-company processes
Manages, tracks, and reports inter-company projects by account
Resolves differences with inter-company Quanta operating units; handles reconciliations as needed
Develops and documents business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls; makes process improvement recommendations to leadership team
Adheres to internal standards, policies, and procedures
Performs special projects and completes other duties as assigned
Required Experience and Education
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
4+ years’ experience working within the Accounting function of a public accounting firm or large, national organization
Preferred Experience and Education
Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
2+ years’ experience working within a Construction accounting setting
Experience with JD Edwards
