We’re looking for a strategic and hands-on Buying Manager to lead a high-performing procurement team responsible for sourcing critical materials, equipment, and services that keep our energy and utility projects running on time and under budget.
What You’ll Do
As our Buying Manager, you’ll lead sourcing efforts from strategy to delivery, working cross-functionally to ensure that purchasing decisions support project goals, company profitability, and long-term supplier partnerships.
What You Bring
- Experience: 5+ years in purchasing or procurement
— high voltage or EPC experience highly preferred. - Systems: Strong knowledge of ERP systems (JDE or similar) and procurement platforms.
- Leadership: Proven experience managing teams and building vendor relationships.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, engineering, or related.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Buyers to meet performance and growth goals.
- Align purchasing plans with project schedules, budgets, and engineering requirements.
- Develop and execute strategic sourcing initiatives to drive value and reduce risk.
- Oversee supplier selection, negotiation, and contract management with a focus on quality, cost, and reliability.
- Collaborate with logistics and inventory teams to ensure just-in-time delivery and optimal inventory turnover.
- Resolve supplier issues and drive corrective actions to maintain uninterrupted project flow.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and industry safety regulations.
- Analyze market trends, pricing, and supplier performance to inform buying decisions.
- Report on procurement KPIs and continuously identify areas for cost savings and process improvements.
